Golf Classic

There was no shortage of generosity at the 27th Annual Charity Golf Classic held at Legacy Ridge Golf & Country Club on June 1st. This year’s event shattered its largescale fundraising goal of $50,000.

With a nearly sold out tournament, huge community support and an exceptional amount of enthusiasm, all of our golfers enjoyed a day on the course to help raise funds for the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation. By the end of the day, $65,000 was raised to support the purchase of 11 new anesthesia machines to outfit each of the operating rooms and MRI suite at Owen Sound Regional Hospital.

“Thanks to all of our golfers, sponsors, volunteers and everyone who helped make the day a huge success,” said Denise Reid, Chair of the organizing committee.

“What a fantastic day of golf in support of local health care” said Amy McKinnon, Executive Director of OSRHF. “I cannot thank the golfers, sponsors, volunteer event committee, led by Denise Reid, and day of volunteers for making the day happen. And a special thanks to Mother Nature for providing near perfect weather.”

Major sponsors of the 2018 Charity Golf Classic were ScotiaMcLeod, Manulife Securities – Martin DesJardine, Leeder & Associates – RBC Wealth Management and Owen Sound Medical Imaging. More than 30 local businesses provided sponsorships and prizes. The community’s generosity ensured the success of this fundraiser!

The 2018 tournament winners were Michael Todd, Jeff Robins, Wim Kruisselbrink, and Jason Playter.

Since its inception 27 years ago, the Charity Golf Classic has raised over $1,065,000 to support the purchase of new medical equipment for the Owen Sound Regional Hospital. A huge thank you to everyone involved!
